Bakery Story 4th of July Goals

Happy 4th of July !
I hope you all have a fantastic day of fireworks, BBQs, parades and family!

However with this month's goals there has been a large uproar about the use of gems.
Sadly, you MUST spend a minimum of 42 gems to complete this goal.
Myself and my neighbor Sweet Treats have asked our neighbors what their thoughts are about this.

Here are some of the responses

Some of Sweet Treat's neighbors' responses:

I didn't even know that you can gain gems by ads ! I've searched all around Bakery Story (I am an iOS player) and have not found where I can watch ads for free gems.

After all the controversy, I decided to play the goals as far as I could.

1. A Baking Competition!
Buy 6 Fireworks Wallpapers
Buy 12 Pie Lattice Floor Tiles
Costs:
Rewards: $2,600    70XP
Unlocks: Rocket Oven

2. A Round of Chess
Serve 10 Lemon Chess Pies
Buy 1 Patriot Pallet
Costs:
Rewards: $2,700    70XP
Unlocks: Peanut Pie

To build a Rocket Oven:

8 Oven Elements
8 July Coils
8 Oven Lights

Recipes:

Lemon Chess Pie: costs $960 to make/ 1 hour/ 375 servings

Peanut Pie: costs $1,660 to make/ 3 hours/ 675 servings

Banana Pie: costs $2,360 to make/ 6 hours/ 1,025 servings

3. Get Nutty! (Yeah we all got nutty when we saw that we have to PAY 10 GEMS)
Serve 15 Peanut Pies
Buy 1 Pie Table Display
Costs:
Rewards: $2,800    75XP
Unlocks: Banana Pie

The Pie Table Display selling for 10 GEMS so instead I skipped for 5 gems.

4. Banana-Rama
Serve 20 Banana Pies
Buy 3 Rocket Counters
Okay, nothing requires gems here. Let's continue I said to myself.
Costs:
Rewards: $2,900    75XP
Unlocks:

5. Tasting Table
Buy 4 July Chairs
Buy 4 Banner Tables
Buy 2 Popcorn Buckets
And here is where it pushed me over.
4 Banner Tables x 2 gems= 8 gems
Plus 2 Popcorn Buckets x 12 gems= 24
= 32 gems for this step alone !!! No way!!!

So here is where I stopped. Also because I didn't have enough gems. I don't know what TeamLava was thinking! This is wayyyy too much for even a person who has been playing the games for a long time could even afford and this probably pushed away new users.
Feel free to comment below your opinions!

  1. Yup the gem suck! I will complete it til I have to buy the buckets and stop with the goal.

  2. I am NOT playing Bakery Story and am about to boycott ALL TL games as I am so angry about needing gems to complete a goal. I have supported TL by spending my money to buy gems...but I won't be told by them on what to spend them on...it's bad enough that they won't fix the game (as Hay Day did) so that you don't lose gems when you accidentally hit a button. What's worse is that they are totally unresponsive when you write to them. DONE!!

  3. I'm pushing through it, since I don't really need those gems anyway. Also I'm curious as to what the final rewards are (although I can look it up in the net instead haha)

  4. Thank you very much for sharing your view. I have been playing bakery story for at least 3 years and never once I have encounter a goal like this one, they never asked for some may gems! I have tried to play this goal for as far as I could as well, and stopped at exactly where you have stop. I don't know if the game will ask for even more gems after I get the chairs and popcorn display (which I don't want). This is quite ironic as Team Lava is doing this to celebrate the 4th July; I am not american but I think the independence day is to celebrate free land - emphasising on "FREE". I think this is their most expensive goal in bakery story history.

  5. For the popcorn buckets, can't you skip that step for 10 gems? Therefore the goal would only require 18 gems, right?

    1. Yes, you may. I started to do that, but then I ran out of gems.... It's up to you if you'd like to continue this way. Wish you the best of luck if you do
